the 'foot apparel': smtg like roller blades, minus the brakes, plus the centre part of the wheels touching the ground got this strip thingy duno for wad lah
the 'ice': supposedly called smart ice. low maintenance one. anyway da point is, it doesn't feel like skating on ice!! more like rollerblading on REALLY smooth surface

Budget 2009
* Excise duty specific on cigarettes increased by three sen from 15 sen per stick to 18 sen per stick. With this, the duty for a 20-stick pack of cigarettes is now increased by 60 sen.
Excellent! higher priced ciggies... (This ain't sarcasm, okay) Higher price=less smoking
It's not that i'm against smokers or anything. It's just that I can't stand being around some smoking when i'm there! Especially when i've just washed my hair... very the smelly okay... Plus, you'll kill me with all those carcinogens and stuffssss that blacken my lungs! Lung Cancer! (which will eventually lead to a full fledged battle with cancer=v the suffering lor) Bronchitis! Emphysema! Medical expenses ain't getting cheaper by the day lah!!
* The highest marginal tax rate for individuals be reduced from 28% to 27%, effective the year of assessment 2009. In addition, the marginal tax rate of 13% will also be reduced to 12%, which will benefit the middle income group.
* Government pensioners who had served at least 25 years upon retirement, will receive a pension of not less than RM720 per month, effective Jan 1 2009.
* A bonus of one-month salary, subject to a minimum of RM1,000 for 2008. The bonus will be paid in two instalments, namely in September and December 2008.
Hurray for mummy!!
* RM580mil and RM420mil allocated for Sabah and Sarawak respectively to increase income and enhance quality of life of Malaysians there by improving basic amenities, such as electricity, water and rural roads.
* Allocation of RM3bil to intensify efforts to further develop Sabah and Sarawak for infrastructure projects, including 266 km of federal and rural roads, benefiting more than 550,000 residents.
* An allocation of RM3.3bil is provided for Sarawak to implement various projects, including the construction of 230 km of federal and rural roads, benefiting more than 350,000 residents.
I suppose this is the least they should do since the East Malaysians are so supportive of BN.... but anyway!! yay for SWK! money money come....
* All interest income from savings for individuals be tax exempt.
With that pittance interest that they're giving out for savings account... Even the inflation can beat the money they get... none the less, 1 cent is 1 cent (even is they make the 1cents go bye bye liao but still...)
* Reduce import duties on various consumer durables from between 10% and 60% to between 5% and 30%. These include blender, rice cooker, microwave oven and electric kettle.
Full import duty exemption on several food items, which currently attract import duties of between 2% and 20%. These include vermicelli, biscuits, fruit juices and canned sweet corn.
Now this is relevant. food!!
Improving Public Transportation
* A sum of RM35bil will be expended during the period 2009 to 2014 to improve public transportation.
hmm, 35 billion for 5 years= 7 billion per year....
Now this is good for those taking public transport! But I can't help but notice that a lot of the money goes to the the kl and penang development... Well i guess there are many transportation woes that didn't go unreported?? Lol... this is great news for the locals there though
*The government has proposed a 100 percent exemption of import duty and a 50 percent exemption in the excise duty on new completely built-up units (CBU)), of hybrid cars.
*Malaysians can expect better health facilities and services following the government’s commitment to set aside RM13.7 billion for their enhancement next year.
Oh well i've dug out the ones that are relevant to me, or at least that interest me.
The rest?? Go check newspaper lah if you really want to.

Teaching?
For those who have yet known, I'm currently temp-ing (being a temporary teacher) at SMK Chung Hua Miri, and have been doing so for the last 2 months actually. Just wanted to share some interesting info that i've gathered...
As I usually sit in for absent teachers that have either gone on sick leave/course etc, I had the oppurtunity to go to various classes, from reform to form 6 (some of them are like my age??), from A classes to K and L classes, but have not certainly covered ALL though.
In general, the upper form science stream students are generally not THAT 'kepo' about all the particulars of the teachers that come in for a brief stint. Even the most talkative of students, mostly keep to their own gang. Do note that even science stream students can be quite challenging to handle sometimes when they get over the teacher's head.
On the other hand, the upper form art stream and lower form students take quite a lot of interest of any new teacher that they might come across and will do their best in the interrogation session. Questions can range for the most basic background info to outrageous ones that I'm thinking twice about talking about it.
Oh well, the only reason i can think about their 'attitudes' lower form peeps and arts stream playful students are still much more in their 'carefree' days in comparison to the upper form science stream peeps...
How I miss being THAT carefree... or am i not now?? hmmm.... No idea...
Oh ya, many students very 'kurang ajar' nowdays y'know.... Sigh... Kids nowadays... But of course there some exceptions that i've come across and i happen to like them okay....
oh yes, another thing. Lousy class don't mean all of 'em are lousy students. A few are actually quite good natured/willing to help/listen/make an effort in their studies. AT LEAST they do something with their life!! Not like those who are actually really smart, BUT..... *shakes head*
Those who just waste their life are the most hutang pukul one... It's not as if they're stupid. And even if they REALLY suck in studies... attitude baik sikit lah.... eesh bah...
hmm... i just realized this is so outta topic.
:P

I miss being away
I miss being away from the family.
Being at home means:
-being able to rely on others (like, parents)
-constant criticism and people hovering over mistakes
-most chores no longer necessary
-chores that are asked to be done are done unwillingly
-lack of appreciation as time drones on
-driving the car
-all the internet, astro, air conditioning needs satisfied
-food is kaotim-ed for you
-get money from parents
-get to buy a lotta junk food!!
-etc.
Being away means:
-phone calls every fortnight (approximately)
-takde org jaga bila sakit
-being able to go wherever, whenever (taking into consideration many factors of course)
-doing chores WITHOUT the grudge, even happily at times
-no curfew
-independance (as in making decisions-wise)
-public transport
-no entertainment (tv, internet)
-constant 'what to eat??' worries
-get money from parents via atm
-etc.
Now that i've been back in Miri for 2 months now, my theory about my/family's behaviour has been proven.
Usually at home, kena target when a certain person's mood is on the cloudy side. I'm a sensitive person. The slightest bit of criticism can put a huge dent in my self esteem, and pride, and thoughts, and etc etc. In short, very the not nice lor.
However, being away for quite some time THEN coming back: exceptionally good for the first few weeks. Lots of fish in meals (likey fishyyy), less volcano erruptions, no nonsense about pushing to do chores, less criticisms.
After the 'honeymoon' period?? back to the old treatments. Okay, okay, lousier than during honeymoon period but a LITTLE better than before the first departure.
Being away, I'm more concious of money spent, actually MISS the family sometimes (you have to know that I already had plans to fly away from the nest around primary 4 lehh), appreciate them a bit more, loving miri for the way it is (i would hate to see it it change though), and er temporary mind block for now.

Kaleidoscopic
A kaleidoscope is a tube of mirrors containing loose colored beads, pebbles or other small colored objects. The viewer looks in one end and light enters the other end, reflecting off the mirrors. As the tube is rotated, the tumbling of the colored objects presents the viewer with varying colors and patterns. Any arbitrary pattern of objects shows up as a beautiful symmetric pattern because of the reflections in the mirrors.
Kaleidoscpic will be a platform to launch my thoughts/feelings to the world. Its sole purpose is to vent out the various issues that I may ponder upon, which may include frustration/anger to blissful happiness or even interesting aspects of my life that i may wish to 'force upon' the world.
My apologies, should anyone feel victimised/framed/sad etc. It is certainly not my intention to cause any harm upon others. On the other hand, should you feel humoured by my extremely lack of wit, again i offer my sincerest 'apologies'.
:)
I do hope Kaleidoscopic will not be one of my failed 'schemes' that eventually loses flavour with time.
Do leave comments. I may (or may not) take them into consideration in the future.
Muahahaha
ANYWAYS!! There'll be more and more of me to look out for in the future!
Though i highly doubt that ppl will look out for it anyway?? haha!
