Before attempting to read the following, please note that 'cadaver' means dead bodies, especially intended for dissection

For the past week, my lecture hours are sorta like this:
monday 8am-4pm (2 hours blanked=free!!)
tuesday 8am-5pm (3 hours blanked)
wednesday 8am-11am (no msian studies, hehe!)
thursday 8am-12pm (1hour of msian studies in between again)
friday 10am-3pm (1hr for lunch)

well, at least that's for the past week. I can't imagine when EVERYTHING like tutorials and labs are ALL on for the week which means:
monday 8am-4pm
tuesday 8am-5pm
wednesday 8am-5pm
thursday 8am-4pm
friday 8am-3pm

IN COMPARISON, imu is SO RELAXING MAN!!!!

wide eyed enough now??? the terror~~~ the terror~~~ aaaa~~~~~
like going to work liddat wan.... o.O

Subjects taken at the moment include physiology, world religions, biochemistry, microbiology, anthropology, epidemiology, ENGLISH for general academic purposes (cis!! cis!!), anatomy/histology, and that's basically it!
PHEW!!!!

well, it has yet been another generally uneventful week, excluding the weekend of course.

We had histology lecture and then practical after that on thursday. As me and my siao fren were too incompetent to make full use of the ONE HOUR (ONLY you know!!) time, we got hold of one of the lecturers and enquired more about viewing the slides at other hours. just to make sure we can do it and how we go about it lah.

And so, happily and merrily, on friday, after class, n after jo going to ibs, n after me n ttx-the library, we reached the medic building again at around 340. Thus, beginning our quest for further knowledge!! (chill lah, please bear with me for a while)

When we 'obtained contact' with the lab assistant, he was ever so kind n helpful (i'm not being sarcastic here) and got us the slides without much fuss so we could dissect all the info we can get get from the slides asap. So off we were to the anatomy dissection hall to observe the slides lor.

Upon entering the 'discussion place' or whatever it is called lah, an array of colours belonging to cadavers caught our eye!! and we were like oomphing and aaahing over our new discovery, i mean what are the chances of stumbling across em when we wanna 'revise' histology kan?? we've only had one encounter with them during the introduction to anatomy lecture! so can't blame our 'enthusiasm'??

But still, we resisted the urge and temptation to 'fondle' and 'caress' quite well, and went on with what we were SUPPOSED to do-TENGOK SLIDES! So, ttx had her turn first, since she was unwell the day before and basically was blur and not within herself.

Then, the lab assistant (for anatomy and not the histology one as before) dropped in to get to know us, then once he mentioned the word GO (albeit in a different, not that direct phrase as this), me n jo fast fast rush beside the place where the cadaver parts are placed and touch here and there lor (with bare hands, mind you). Suddenly, after talking about some of the body parts, Mr. J dug up the inner organs of the male cadaver to show us its spleen i think?? well, i forgot which but then we also dared to get messy lor after he did that (and after we requested for permission lar, haha) so see here n thr, poke here n there, feeling the texture, toughness, blah blah blah blah and other boring stuffz.

Oh ya, i also had the chance to see the cross section of a female upper body too. With which me n jo puzzled upon which organ was intended for which structure/function- more specifically near the pelvic part. ahaha... mainly cos i thought that the ovary didn't look like the ovary and etcetera lah. Mr J clarified my doubts as soon as i asked though. hehe. He's so helpful to us students wan, wah v good lah, i like, (actually almost all the staff here like that wan lor) we are definitely lucky to have these ppl man...

Note: this is an edited and modified version. Incident regarding little visit by other batch mates were omitted to facilitate a shorter and pleasant story.

A change of topic!!

I had my first visit to central square, sg petani on saturday, after replacement classes for raya. :)
Twas actually nothing to be so excited about. It's something like the not yet expanded days of bintang plaza, only worse. Very chap n messy lor the place, at the slight bit of stairs leading up to the bowling area, the sight that beholds you is- cigarrete butts on the ground and a whole bunch of hooligan looking malays sitting there too.
(i don't really have a thing against malays, cos i love afiq n sitia n izzaidin n khalid n syeeda n ain n all the gang last time lar, n some of the girls that let me have a chair during one of the meal times. so you see, i'm okay with malays man!)

Oh yeah it was kinda of a culture shock being there cos it's predominantly indian ethinicity you see in aimst and the chinese, second. THE POINT IS, it's messy bcos of the ppl that messed up the place, the lots placing being a bit too crowded for me, the narrow walkway, dizzyingly complicated locations of elevators and stairs, ppl everywhere due to it being a public holiday, lousy air conditioning system and er, that's basically it gua??

Things i do like about it: watson's and guardian is there!! there a great chinese eatery called mr. choo's!! me, jess n hs were totally stuffing food down our throats for AUTHENTIC FIT FOR HUMAN FOOD!! and we kept to the 'now THIS is food fit for humans' phrase everytime a dish is served. hahaa! that's how bad we think about aimst food. which is edible, but not entirely enjoyable everytime. we'll survive, n for me, get fat!
oh and there's secret recipe and another place called 'meteor rain' in chinese that i have yet to check out. (mana tau kan the secret recipe here is lousy bah, haha!!)

SO BEHOLD, the FATTER karen, coming back to miri for cny!!! muahahaha!
(which is absolutely due to the oily food in campus okayyyy, serious!!!)

Bah, it's so late already, and yet tmr early morn got cell group! oh gosh, i forgot to talk about the amazing service i had on friday night!!! sien. nvm lah, the most important thing about is: AWESOME! not exactly like acts lah, but something like it?? :)
i duno but i feel at home (or at least for now lah)
will continue to observe and check out other places.

Until next time~~
:)

Toodlelooos~~~~
